Clarity Feature Updates: October 2026

Bitfocus has just announced the October 2026 Feature Updates to be released October 1 between 9:00 and 10:00am. For a complete list of the Clarity Features updates, check out this article. Some of the items that we think are relevant to all users include: 

• New User Interface LIVE for all users - access to old interface retired.
• Current Living Situation Enrollment Workflow
• Client Reports 

Note: These types of updates occasionally cause bugs throughout Clarity or issues with reports available from the Data Analysis tab. We actively monitor for errors after updates, but if you experience any issues, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work to resolve the issue.

2026 HMIS Privacy and Security Training:

Mark your calendars! The HMIS team has scheduled four dates for the HUD required annual HMIS Privacy and Security training for ALL HMIS Users: 

Please register for ONE of the following trainings on:

This is a required training and failure to participate will result in removed access from Clarity. 

Registration is open on the CoC Community Partner website. Please note that you will need to create sign in credentials for this site if you have not done so already. After signing in, navigate to the events tab and select "Book Now!" for the specific date you are able to attend. A confirmation email will be automatically sent to the email you created the account with. Email HMISSupport@end-homelessness.org if you have any questions or concerns.

Helpful Data Quality Tips: Exiting a Household

Question: I exited the Head of Household. Why are the children still enrolled?

Answer: Toggle on all household members when exiting a group from a project. According to the HMIS Data Standards, each client must have their own, separate project exit date and destination recorded.

Question: But what if only the Head of Household is leaving and other group members are staying?

Answer: That is fine! With Clarity's new interface update, the system will no longer allow users to exit a HoH and leave other group members enrolled. You will get the warning shown below if you try to. You will have to change the enrollment head of household before exiting the original HoH. Go to the Group tab, and click on the Kebab to edit the HoH.

New Basic Clarity Training LIVE in TalentLMS

The on demand Basic Clarity Training has been updated to be current with the new user interface and workflows. It is available to new users and anyone who requests a refresher.

PLEASE NOTE: The agency specific (YWCA, ESNKY, VESTA) and process specific trainings have not yet been updated.
