HUD Guidance: According to this client's assessment at Project Start, they experienced a single episode of homelessness in the three years prior to their Project Start and the approximate date homelessness started is known, but there was no response entered for the total number of months they experienced homelessness prior to this enrollment. It should be possible to determine and enter the total number of months they experienced homelessness based on the Approximate Date Homelessness Started and the Project Start Date.
How to correct: Enter the total months of homelessness in the past three years for the client based on when their homelessness began. If this is the first episode of homelessness in the past three years, you can use the date homelessness started to determine the correct count. The count should include the month they entered the Project along with every month they experienced even one night of homelessness.
