This article was written to include information on filters that may be visible in Dashboards available in Clarity.

This is not intended to be a comprehensive list and will be updated regularly to compliment articles written about custom Dashboards and Reports created by the HMIS Support Team in the Data Analysis tab.


Anytime a filter is updated, select the reload/update icon on the top right of the dashboard. 


Filter NameFilter Description
Age at Enrollment
The "age at enrollment" filter allows you to view data for clients based on their age when they are first enrolled in a project. It is important to note that because this filter looks at a client's age when they were first enrolled in a project instead of their current age, this means that the two ages may be different. The default setting is "is any value." 
Agency Name
The "agency" filter allows you to view data only from clients enrolled in projects from certain agencies. The default setting is "is any value" and will display data viewable those agencies in which you have access to (including Demo Agency).
Assigned StaffThe "assigned staff" filter allows you to select a specific person or persons who is listed as an assigned staff member in the program enrollment.
Assigned Staff Home AgencyThe "assigned staff home agency" filter allows you to view the primary agency for the assigned staff.  This is helpful information when users have access to multiple agencies.
Client Active / Currently Active
The "currently active" filter allows you to view data for clients who are currently active within the specified timeframe
Date RangeThe "date range" filter allows you to select a timeframe in which clients were active at some point within that date range. This filter allows users to select a wide variety of date range types, for example: choosing two specific dates, from a past amount of time, or before or after a specific time. The default setting is usually "is in the last 6 months." 
Enrollment PeriodThe "enrollment period" filter allows you to set a specific timeframe in which clients were enrolled in at some point in a program.
GenderThe "gender" filter allows you to view data for clients based on the clients’ gender. The default setting is "is any value."
Head of Household
The "head of household" filter allows you to view data only from clients who are either listed as head of household or not listed as head of household. The filter defaults to any, meaning that both heads of household and non-heads of household are included.
Household Type

The "household type" filter allows you to view data based on the type of household a client is in. The different types of households include: 

  • Household with children 
  • Household without children 
  • Household with only children 
  • Single adult 
  • Single child 
  • Indeterminable household 

Like the "head of household" filter, the "household type" filter defaults to any, meaning that all household types are automatically included. 

RaceThe "race" filter allows you to view data for clients based on the clients’ race(s). The default setting is "is any value."

Reporting PeriodThe reporting period filter will limit results based on if a client has an enrollment within the Reporting Period date range. The report default is to run for the past 7 days. There are several ways to modify the reporting date. You can adjust the number and period measure so the reporting period could report based on clients in the past X hours, weeks, months, years, etc. 
Project Name
The "project name" filter allows you to view data only from clients enrolled in specific projects. Clicking on the open textbox will show a drop-down list of projects to choose from and any combination of projects can be selected.  The default setting is "is any value."
Project Start DateThe "project state date" filter allows you to set a specific timeframe in which clients were first enrolled in a program.
Program
The "program" filter allows users to select one or more specific programs to view data for.
