About Dashboards

Dashboards allow you to view your agency's information in a series of interactive tables, charts, and text tiles. This article will tell you how you can set up your Clarity account to open on a pre-designed dashboard or access dashboard reports through the Data Analysis tab in the Reports section of Clarity. You can also build your own dashboard reports or request custom dashboards. Contact HMISsupport@end-homelessness.org to learn more.

Accessing Your Custom Dashboard From Account Settings

  • Log into Clarity. Be sure you are logged into the agency where you want to access the dashboard.
  • Go to Account Settings

  • The Home Screen Override drop-down box allows you to choose the home screen you will see when you log in to the system.
    • The Agency Default option defaults to the dashboard set as the agency default.
    • The Client Search option opens your system on the client search screen.
    • The Custom Dashboard option allows you to choose any custom dashboard available for your agency.

When you choose the Custom Dashboard option, a Dashboard drop-down field appears:

  • Click the name of the dashboard you want to view.

Tips for Using Dashboards and Dashboard Reports

Download as CSV, TXT, Excel, Image, More

You can download an individual tile or an entire dashboard. Note: if you download the entire dashboard each tile will download as its own report.

To download the entire dashboard:

Click on the gear in the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard and choose download as a PDFs or as CSVs

To download a tile:

Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the tile and choose download data.

Choose the file format, results, values, and limits options.

Click download.

Drilling Down

You can drill down to see the supporting data for many (but not all) visualizations on a dashboard.

  • Scroll over  the visualization to see additional detail.

  • Click on the visualization to get a list of clients and details that are included in that count.

  • When available, you can click on the bubbles next to a Personal ID, client Unique Identifier, or Enrollment ID link directly to the client's profile or enrollment.

Explore From Here

Users with Data Analysis access can use any tile for a foundation to create a new report or dig deeper into the data.

Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner of the tile and choose download data. From here you can add or remove report filters, and add additional report fields. Please note: you will not be able to save edits to the dashboard, however, you will be able to save your version as a new report (or "Look").
